Unigbo Foods was founded with one simple belief:

Authentic African food should be as easy to enjoy as any other global cuisine.

Growing up surrounded by the rich traditions of African cooking, our founders experienced firsthand how food creates lasting memories, strengthens family connections, and preserves culture. Yet despite the growing popularity of international cuisine, authentic African food remained difficult to find in many mainstream stores and often required hours of preparation.

They knew there had to be a better way.

That vision became Unigbo Foods.

Our Story

Unigbo Foods is proudly co-founded by Ursula and her mother, combining family traditions with a shared passion for making African cuisine more accessible.

Rather than starting with a large product line, they intentionally launched with one carefully crafted product, our ready-to-eat Jollof Rice.

Beginning with a single SKU allows us to focus on quality, consistency, and delivering an exceptional customer experience while building the foundation for future products.

From attending local farmers markets and food conventions together to introducing customers to African cuisine one meal at a time, our journey has always been rooted in community, culture, and genuine connections.
